KATAKLYSM Singer Finishes Laying Down Vocals For New Album
August 2, 2005KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono has issued the following update:
"The artwork contest [for the upcoming KATAKLYSM album] is now over. We would like to thank everyone from our fans to artists from the four corners of the world that have sent in their visions. The response was great!! Now we've got to go through all of them (there's shitloads to look at) and make a decision with our record label Nuclear Blast, so bear with us. We'll let you know who the winner is soon.
"Just flew back to Chicago this morning from Montreal. I finished all my vocal tracks for the new album and I must say this was the most difficult album I've had to record. Some of these songs have crazy tempos and I had to step it up a notch, but I'm very happy with the end result. According to J-F [Dagenais, guitarist/producer] the album should be finished in a few weeks."
As previously reported, the drum tracks for KATAKLYSM's upcoming album, "In the Arms of Devastation", were recorded at Studio Victor, with the highly anticipated return of oginal drummer Max Duhamel. The rest of the album is being recorded at guitarist J-F Dagenais's JFD studios over the remainder of the summer.
"In the Arms of Devastation"'s release will mark the band's 15th anniversary and will be celebrated with the band's first-ever DVD, "The Test of Time". The disc, which is scheduled for release later in 2006, will feature documentary-style footage spanning the band's career from 1991 to 2005, including the "making of" the new album, live footage, clips, interviews and tons of other goodies.
